last nights screening of Tim Bonython Big Wave Project didn’t disappoint. The reaction of the people there said it all. I’ve never heard so many ohs and ahs in a cinema. A great insight to the inner sanctum of just about every big wave charger and big wave destination from around the globe. 5 stars Tim.

We made a weekend of it and travelled from Canberra to Avoca for the Sunday Session of The Big Wave Project.
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the community of reprobates in an old style picture theatre. Only thing missing was the nylon surf shirts and the shark tooth necklaces.
Your next task after the season is to get the movie to DVD or BluRay so we can shower you with additional cash for the privilege of replaying it until it breaks.

Was at your screening of The Big Wave Project last night at the Jam Factory, I didn’t get the chance to introduce myself and congratulate you on your work so I thought an email will suffice.
What an awesome piece of cinema! Certainly my favorite for the year. I found it very moving and inspiring. The stars were uncontrived, just like the waves they ride, and your imagery captured the size and power of the ocean with authenticity. It’s great to see passionate people pushing the boundaries in film and surfing, keep it up!

Hi there Tim,
I went to see your film last night in Glenelg and loved it! I think I lost count of how many times I went ” ohhhhhh”” with my hands over my face hehe! The footage was outstanding and combined with the music was completely immersive. I have always loved coming to see your films and was stoked to see so many happy n excited people there that felt the same way. Keep it up! I especially loved some of the unusual angles . I have tried to film in the ments one time and it’s not easy ! I have so much respect and admiration for what you do. Not to mention the crew who actually have the guts to take the drop on those waves.(..)
